Fun facts about worms to share with your child:
-Worms live in the ground in moist dirt or soil and spend most of their lives in darkness
-Worms don't have eyes, but can sense when it's dark our light through 'receptor cells'
-Worms try to stay out of sunlight because the heat from the sun dries out their skin
-Worms breath through their skin
-Worms live on average 2 years
-(Place your child's hand on his chest to feel his heartbeat) Explain that people have 1 heart, but worms have 5 hearts
-Worms eat things found in dirt like rotting leaves
-Worms help plants to grow healthy and strong by keeping the soil clean
-Worms are very important to gardens and farm land
-Worms are older than dinosaurs
