Create a collage!
Using magazines, catalogs or newspapers create a collage. The theme of your collage is up to you!
Some fun examples could be to find words or images that start with the first letter of your preschoolers/kindergartners first name, colors, seasons, transportation, food, animals or your favorite things. The possibilities are endless! With your preschooler/kindergartner cut and glue your pictures/words/letters onto a poster board, cardboard box, or piece of paper. To extend the fun you could have your preschooler/kindergartner find things around the house that are on their collage-I wonder if you can find 4 things that start with the letter “S” or I wonder if you can find 5 green toys. You can even sing a familiar song inserting your child’s name…”Sarah starts with S, Sarah starts with S, I wonder what else starts with S!” SPRING! “Spring starts with S, Spring starts with S!
Enjoy! And remember, no pressure-have fun with it and tap into what makes it fun for your family!
I wonder...
I wonder statements are a great way to introduce concepts to children, stimulate their curiosity while modeling the pleasure of learning, and embrace ideas in a fun and unpressured way!
- I wonder if you can find 4 things that start with the letter “S”?
I wonder if you can find 5 green toys?
I wonder what else starts with "S"?
