Preschool
Igniting Curiosity & Joy in Learning
Ages 3 - 6 Years
In Preschool, children come to understand that a classroom is a space filled with opportunities to learn more about their world, explore friendship, and discover more about themselves. The excitement of discovery, the joy of mastering a new skill, and the happiness in connecting with others, is modeled, experienced, and internalized. This is where a love of learning ignites.
At the heart of our approach are the warm, supportive relationships our teachers nurture with each child. Acting as facilitators of play, emotional caretakers, role models, and curiosity advocates, teachers create an environment where children feel good about themselves inside a classroom.
During these years, children explore the joys of friendship— what it means to be and have a friend. In our classrooms, they have the agency to choose whether or not and with whom to play, making friendship a choice rather than an obligation. This freedom fosters authentic connections and supports emotional well-being.
In our classrooms, teachers weave cognitive concepts into children's play. For example, math concepts when building with blocks, language arts when creating a spaceship, the sciences when exploring the water table, natural sciences when tending the children's garden, connection and relating when engaging in dramatic play, and so much more. Every idea is supported. This approach is designed to strengthen children's confidence in exploring their curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world in a fun and meaningful way.
By the time they complete our preschool program, children’s natural curiosity is ignited, and their desire to understand the world becomes a powerful engine for their lifelong learning journey.
