Parent Engagement & Support Program

For Parents of Children in Child & Adolescent Therapy

Welcome to Smart Love Family Services. We are glad that you have turned to us to help your child. Bringing your child to therapy may be a new experience for you as parents or caregivers and we understand that you may have a lot of questions. We have created this Parent Engagement & Support Program to provide support to parents as their child begins therapy and as a continual resource for when parents have questions.

There are four components of the orientation process to help parents better understand our services and to find support through their child's therapy:

  • Attend a Parenting Session: Please schedule a 45-minute Parent Orientation Session to receive an overview of our child therapy approach and provide you a chance to ask targeted questions about your child and their presenting concerns. Most Parent Orientation sessions are covered by insurance. If that is not the case, we will work with you!

  • Monthly Q&A Seminars with Ms. Ilinka Novakovic, LCSW: We offer a virtual Q&A seminar each month to provide parents the opportunity to get specific questions answered in real time about our approach. Parents can attend as many as they like. Please register below for this FREE seminar.

FAQs: Understanding Child & Adolescent Therapy

Please watch these informational videos before your child starts their therapy. In each video we address common questions that parents have about our services. We explain Smart Love's perspective on child development and behavior, discuss our approach to therapy and its benefits, and provide insight into how and why we have our therapy structured.
